Short Get Away to Amsterdam
Our short weekend get away to Amsterdam started with a short 2 hour flight from Stockholm to Netherland’s Schiphol airport. We quickly made our way to the main entrance to the airport to get our transportation tickets.
Keukenhof Tickets
Tickets were purchased a few weeks prior, as part of package deal, with the Keukenhof Tulip Garden tickets. It was a great package which included, not only the entry to the Tulipfest at Keukenhof with transportation to the fest, but also public transportation for use around Amsterdam. Price varied based on the number of days needed for transportation around Amsterdam.
The special Keukenhof kiosk for the tickets was not easy to find, as there were many public transportation kiosks in the area. We eventually found one, but the machine was out of printer paper. After walking around another few minutes, we found the second kiosk. Unfortunately, the scanner was not working. We eventually went to the public transportation booth where they were able to print the tickets. Even though this took a while get the tickets, we did not mind. We needed to wait until midnight, so our three days tickets started on Saturday morning. If we had used the transportation tickets anytime before midnight, our first day would have started on Friday.
The three days of use starts at the first swipe, so we still had a few minutes after the tickets were printed. We eventually located our bus outside the airport, swiping our card at 12:06pm. With only two stops away to the Ninety Nine Airport Hotel we made it there quickly. We checked in, located our room, and were in bed before 1pm, so we would be well rested for the Tulipfest!
