St. Thomas Beach Day followed by a Night of Fine Dining

A St. Thomas beach day offers the perfect combination of relaxation, local culture, and island adventure. During our time, we spent a full day embracing its sun-soaked shores and scenic landscapes along with well-loved local and fine dining restaurants of St. Thomas. From a peaceful morning at Bouy Haus Beach and a quiet lunch in the historic streets of Charlotte Amalie, to an elegant dinner at the Old Stone Farmhouse, every moment reflected the unique charm of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Morning Serenity on a St. Thomas Beach
Our day began with a peaceful start—sipping Nespresso on the balcony as the Caribbean breeze drifted in. Soon after, we joined my brother Ray and his wife Sabrina at Bouy Haus Beach, a quiet spot perfect for soaking in the sun. We lounged on chaise chairs while they paddled across the bay in a resort kayak, enjoying the clear, calm waters.

Lunch at Glady’s Bar in Charlotte Amalie
As the morning turned to early afternoon, hunger led us into Charlotte Amalie, the historic capital of St. Thomas. With no cruise ships in port, the town was unusually quiet—a hidden gem waiting to be explored.
After checking several reviews, we chose Glady’s Bar, a well-loved local spot and one of the few restaurants open that day. Tucked away in a charming alley, Glady’s impressed us with its size, friendly service, and flavorful food. We enjoyed hearty avocado sandwiches and fresh salads in a nearly empty dining room.
Glady’s Bar is a must-visit for anyone searching for local St. Thomas restaurants or dining in Charlotte Amalie. Locals told us it transforms in the evening with live music and dancing—something to consider for a livelier experience.
Afternoon Poolside at Bouy Haus Resort
We returned to the Bouy Haus Resort for a restful afternoon by the private pool. With the sun beginning to dip, we rented a cabana at a discounted rate—a great tip for travelers looking to elevate their experience without the full-day cost.
With drinks in hand and personalized service, the poolside experience was a luxurious break from the day’s exploring.

Dinner at The Old Stone Farmhouse
Our evening plans were the highlight of the day: a dinner reservation at Old Stone Farmhouse, one of the top fine dining restaurants in St. Thomas. The drive there took us along the island’s famously winding, hilly roads—an adventure in itself.
Originally a plantation house, the Old Stone Farmhouse features rustic stone architecture and intimate dining rooms with creaky wooden floors. We were seated in a quiet room at the back. The attentive service and romantic ambiance set the stage for a perfect meal. Our surf-and-turf entrée, paired with a crisp wine and fresh salad, was absolutely delicious.
After dinner, we wandered into the courtyard and found a charming fountain filled with lily pads and little frogs—an unexpected and delightful end to the evening.
Reflecting on our day
Our St. Thomas beach day was the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure, letting us fully soak in the island’s charm and serenity. From our tranquil morning at Bouy Haus to a leisurely lunch at Glady’s Bar, and finally, the exquisite dinner at the Old Stone Farmhouse. Every moment was filled with joy, discovery, and connection. As we returned to the resort under the soft Caribbean night, the memories lingered—a beautiful reminder of the island’s magic and the time spent with loved ones. A day etched in our hearts forever.
